Imaging Equipment For The Digital Age
Do you remember the good old days? You took all the kids to
the beach and had a great day.
Toddler Head Injuries
Shaken Baby Syndrome And Other Heard Injuries Common In Babies
There was sea, sun and sand everywhere. And you thought that
you had taken some great shots with the trusty camera that has
been in the family for years.
A couple of days later, you took the time and trouble to
drive round to your favorite photo development shop, where the
surly young man behind the counter, took your film to be
developed and told you to come back two days later. Two days
later you returned to meet a different but equally surly young
man to whom you paid an unreasonably large sum of money to
receive these special moments captured into history. Do you
remember your horror and the surly young man's smirking
pleasure that of the photographs that you paid your hard earned
cash to be developed had turned out to be not quite what you
hoped?
These days, thanks to the wonders of digital imaging
equipment, all this is behind us. The photo developer has
closed down, the young men have gone off to be surly somewhere
else, and just about anyone can run his own in house photo
development studio,
Don't get me wrong. The digital age might not make you a
better photographer. It will, however, give so much of a margin
for error, than even someone born with four thumbs on each hand
and thinks that " Red Eye" is the name of a racehorse, can be
become a digital cameraman and produce high quality prints.
The good news is that in the digital age is well upon us and
the cost of digital imaging equipment is going down as its
capacity is increasing.
Obviously to start with you need a digital camera, and you
can buy a good one these days for around $250 upwards. This
camera will provide high resolution, zoom and flashlights to
brighten up even the darkest of settings.
The next vital piece of equipment is a good printer. Digital
printers are coming down in price, while at the same time
conventional inkjet printers can now produce high resolution
prints that at least match the quality produced by digital
printers. So when establishing your digital photo studio you
would have to take into account the cost of the ink against the
cost of the printer.
So now we are ready to go! First you have to take the kids
to the beach, even if they don't want to go. Instead of taking
your standard 36 snaps, a digital camera with a good size
memory card can take 360 at least. Rush home to your digital
studio, not forgetting to put the kids in the car. Now your
magic moment has arrived. You can download the photographs onto
the hard drive of your computer. If you don't have a computer,
the latest printers will allow you to transfer your photographs
directly through the flash card This way you can choose 36 of
your best photographs, and print them out in the comfort of
your own home. Keep the rest on your hard disc for later!
This is one of the ways the digital imaging has changed our
lives, and only for the better.
