Essential Digital Photography Equipment

The good news is that in the digital age is well upon us and the cost of digital photography equipment is decreasing as its capacity increases. So what do you need to set up your own home development studio?

Infant CPR Certification
The instructor of the infant CPR certification class will teach you how to handle breathing emergencies in infants and you'll also learn CPR first aid.

At the sharp edge of the whole operation is a good digital camera. Prices for digital cameras today run between $100 to $500. For an enthusiastic amateur, the ideal price should be around $300. This will provide sufficient resolution, zoom lenses and high quality flash. Just remember that in digital photography as in other things in life size doesn't really matter. Some of the most powerful digital cameras around are the smallest!

Most digital cameras come with more or less all the equipment that you will need to be self sufficient in the field. However it always worth your while to have as large a memory card as possible, and to purchase a back up while you are at it. If you are buying a few pieces of digital photography equipment at the same time and are not afraid to barter, try to squeeze this out of the digital camera shop. Always worth a try!

Now you have your camera, and assuming you have taken the time to learn how to use it properly, you will be ready to test your skills on the unsuspecting world.

Once you have taken your first few hundred shots, the next stage is to upload them to your computer to see how they have turned out.

Whilst you could never say that having a powerful computer is digital photography equipment in a stand alone situation, it will be of enormous assistance to the digital photographer to have one, if not of their own, than at least at their disposal. By connecting your digital camera to the computer through its USB cable, the download process can begin.

Usually it will take just a minute or two to download all the images in the camera to the computer hard disc for storage and processing. Microsoft Windows XP comes with a very nice accessory that allows digital photographers to view all the shots taken in chronological order, It will allow the novice photographer to rapidly delete some of the most disastrous images, hopefully before anyone else sees them. Those that are fit for human consumption can be stored on the hard disc for eternity. It is always a good idea to save those "works of digital art" in files, denoting the time, the date and the occasion for easy access later.

Another very worthwhile addition to your arsenal of digital photography equipment is an external or portable hard drive. You can store all your digital images there as a back up. This is an especially good idea if the computer that you work with is not yours exclusively. You never know when someone might come along and delete your cherished photographs.
