The Digital Camera Doesn't Control You - You Control It!

Digital photography as a hobby can be a lot of fun as long as you remember the simple rule; the digital camera doesn't operate you; you operate the digital camera.

Symptoms Of Heartburn
Symptoms of heartburn or chronic heartburn, are experienced due to acid reflux from the stomach to the esophagus.

Everyone who has a digital camera needs to learn the basic techniques involved in both in the technical aspects of how to hold the camera, which buttons and dials to operate and what and even how to press the shutter.

Here is a simple list of basic techniques that you should know before you begin to shoot in earnest.

Not trying to insult your intelligence here, but you would be surprised to learn how many people don't know how to hold a camera. So here's how:

The index finger of your right hand should rest on the shutter, the thumb should rest on the back to stabilize the camera and the rest of the fingers on your right hand should be holding the front of the camera to stop it from jumping when you take a shot.

The thumb and index finger of your left hand are used to hold the bottom of the camera. Sounds simple, Try it a few times and you will find how easy yet how important it is. Now that we have leaned to hold the camera properly we are ready to launch ourselves into our hobby (hopefully leading into a career) of being a digital photographer.

Here are a few simple tips on digital photography techniques to get you on your way.

* If you are taking a group shot, always shoot at eye level, it really captures the moment. If the people you are shooting are children or midgets, then bend down and shoot them at eye level too, nothing is more impersonal than the view of the top of someone's head.

* When you are about take a shot, especially if it is of an inanimate object, take a moment or two to check the background. If you can avoid including some electric pylons or a truck laden with cattle by adjusting your angle, then it would be a good idea to do so.

* Don't be afraid to get really close to the subject your are shooting. The lens may look dramatic, but the closer the shot the higher the resolution.

* Unless you deliberately want not to, always try to place your subjects in the center of the shot. It adds symmetry. If you are looking for drama or effect include the subject along with a castle or major landmark. Not a group of other people who have nothing to do with your life.

These are just a few techniques that should have set you on your way to digital imaging success. Once you get your toe in the water, there will be no holding you back. Wishing you lots of fun and fulfillment in the digital imaging World.
