With your digital camera in flash on mode, the exposure gained emphasis the background and lights up the principal subject with just enough light. This makes for a professional looking photograph every time. Investigate the close up mode on your camera. It is a great tool. By taking a shot as close to the subject as you can, you can see and capture objects in tremendous resolution. The trick is not getting too close or you will lose the focus. The zoom lens is a great toy, but you will sacrifice resolution by straying too far away from the shot.
